Test-fit the pattern rafter and adjust its notches. When it fits accurately all along the beams, use it to mark and cut the remaining rafters. First, cut all the rafters to length. Then clamp together all the rafter stock, including the pattern rafter, edge up. Mark and cut all of the notches to match the pattern rafter. Use a chisel to finish each notch.
This is another example of surroundings that fit with the garden shed. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that the shed blends and fits with its surroundings. The dark colors blend with the woody area and the darker mulch. The green trim has enough of green to connect at least somewhat with the greenery around it. IDEA # 27: Make your shed blend with nature instead of change the natural setting to fit your shed.
Connect three windows to form the window assembly for the side wall (Figures R and U). Use a pair of 2x4s as spacers between each window. Screw through the window frames into the spacers to hold the windows together. Tip the triple window assembly into the window opening. Shim under the windows until about 3/8 in. of the top frame is exposed on the outside. Shim between the studs and the window frame to level and plumb the window unit and to adjust the frame until there’s a consistent space between the window frame and the sash. Make sure the window frames are flush to the siding. Then screw through the window frames into the studs to hold the windows in place. We added Stanley Storm Window Adjuster hardware to the windows to hold them open and to lock them.

The plans are OK, but I'm pretty disappointed in the customer service. I had my plans destroyed in a rain storm today and was denied any sort of replacement (was wanting a digital copy so I could re-print). Customer service indicated that they were printed only. I would assume this is to prevent people distributing them online, but it's still disappointing.

Simple shed designs like this one feature tongue and groove planks that are typically reserved for flooring or indoor paneling. The boards are designed to interlock along the long edges, making for an exceptionally sturdy structure. The best part is you can buy this type of lumber at your local discount hardware superstore in different lengths and a variety of different types of lumber.
We’re using tongue-and-groove LP ProStruct Flooring with SmartFinish for the shed floor. Fasten the first sheet in the back corner with construction adhesive and deck screws. Finish the row with a half sheet. Then start with a full sheet from the opposite end so the seams between sheets are staggered. The photo above shows how we installed the flooring. Learn more in-depth instructions for how to install flooring here.
Before you shingle the roof, install metal drip edge. Then nail a row of starter shingles along the bottom of the roof. Install the rest of the shingles according to the package instructions. Before painting, we filled spaces on the exterior with acrylic caulk. Then we rolled and brushed two coats of top quality acrylic exterior paint onto the trim and siding. When all of this is done, your pub shed will be complete!

I am building a 20 a 20 foot floor for a workshop in a space under my house so the area is always dry. There is already a crushed stone floor. Can I dig a trench, fill it with stone and lay 4×4’s or 2×4’s on top of it for a foundation? If so, would they have to be pressure treated? Do I even need crushed stone if use pressure treated wood on top of dirt Would concrete blocks or pavers with 2×6 headers be a better idea? Which is the least expensive way to go?
Some may think sheds are for storage. However, shed use goes far beyond that. Garden sheds can be turned into cute little spaces in the corner of the garden. Some people even turn space into a cute she-sheds or a little living space. These outdoor living spaces are a great place to get away. IDEA #3: Turn your garden shed into personal living space in your garden.
Very Happy the description says what's included and everything is great. There are 24 of 1 bracket type and 12 of the other. And for the cost you cant do much better. I agree with other review the instructions could be better. That being said I'm using mine a bit differently so the instructions are pointless for my case i had to make my own plans and materials list. I am using the 24 brackets for my top roofline (12 ridge beam Conectors) and purchasing other brackets from my local home improvement store to fasten my roof trusses to my own bottom framing that the 12 other connectors in the kit will be used in addition to several others being I am making a signifcantly bigger out building out of it for my car to be parked inside of. So far so good on that project and the ... full review
If wet weather is forecast, cover the concrete with polythene for 24-hours. In warm weather, cover the base with damp sacks and sprinkle them with water over the 24-hour period, this will ensure the drying concrete will not shrink and crack. The result will be a smooth, sound and level base. The perfect foundation for the construction of a garden shed.
This year’s pub shed is one of the most versatile we’ve ever built. The bar and covered patio area make it a perfect place to entertain or just hang out. The steep roof and sturdy lofts provide tons of extra storage space. And the high-tech materials, including reflective roof sheathing and prefinished floor panels, add to the shed’s comfort and convenience. Of course, if you don’t want a bar, you can install a bank of windows in its place. In fact, without too much more work, you could eliminate the front porch and build one big shed for even more storage space
One last thing about shed sizes, it’s a good idea to always measure out the dimensions in your own garden before you invest any money. You can do this easily by using a couple of stakes and a string to measure out the space. That’s how the pros do it. Make sure that you leave enough room on all sides of the shed to help with rain drainage and prevent water damage.
