I am considering purchasing a 16×24 Everest Tall Barn and using it as a workshop/additional living space to include a full bathroom. For this reason, I am planning to run utilities to the building including natural gas, water, sewer, etc. Since there is no way of knowing where the floor joists will be, there is no way to know where to locate the sewer line for proper flow (connection location) through a concrete slab. Therefore, I was hoping to have a standard footer with craw space installed and attached the Everest on top of it (just like a house). This way I could access the utilities by removing sections of the floor so I could run the sewer line (and other utilities) to exact areas of the building. Is it possible to have the building constructed/attached on top of this type of footer system?

Fun could be designing the shelving, storage, displays such that the glass wear won’t break but doesn’t have to be unpackaged for use/display…. I would call it Mo-Bar. Vinyl sheds or buildings built of other materials, can be can be great for some situations. However for a natural environment wood is much better. First of all wood is a natural product. Secondly it fits better in a woodsy area. IDEA: Just to say you can do it, build a shed with 1) natural products and 2) products that are as much in their raw form as possible.

This structure is quite different from all the sheds presented so far. First of all, it’s not actually a shed but just a structure with a design similar to that of a shed but one that you can walk right through. Concrete starts to harden and set about two hours after it has been mixed, so it must be laid, tamped (packed down) and given its finish within that time. Divide large areas into bays or sections which can be completed one at a time before they begin to set. You can walk on the concrete after three days and remove the formwork after five days (but as always, check any product instructions for the mix you are using as there are rapid-setting options available).
Start by cutting the 2×8 ridge board to length and marking the rafter locations on both sides using Figure K as a guide. Also mark the rafter locations on the floor along both sides of the shed. Next, set the ridge on temporary 2×4 posts and brace it with diagonal 2x4s (Photo above). The top of the ridge should be 76 in. from the floor. Cut a pair of rafters (Figure J) and set them in place to test the fit. Make any needed adjustments, and when you have a pair of rafters that fit perfectly, mark one of them as a pattern. Use the pattern to trace the rafter cuts on the remaining 2x6s and cut out the rafters.

After crosscutting the steel roof panels, we fastened them to the skip sheathing using self-tapping screws with a rubber gasket under the head. We drove the screws with an 18-volt drill and a socket wrench attachment, but we'd advise using a more sturdy nut driver because penetrating the roofing requires a fair amount of force. Finally, we screwed the diagonal braces to the posts.

Also square the frame by making sure diagonal measurements from opposite corners are equal. Then tack one corner to hold it square. Finally, nail the soffit to the roof frame with 6d galvanized box nails. We used 12-in.-wide fiber cement siding for soffit material. Mount an inexpensive carbide blade on your circular saw to cut the fiber cement. Set the roof panel aside and build the other half of the roof using the same techniques.
